I am watching a young man get dragged out of a tea party rally on MSNBC for voicing his dissenting opinion. Directly across from the young man is Sarah Palin's shrieking voice talking about what Americans want. She has also informed the disgruntled gentleman that he should shut up and maybe he'll learn something. As an American, I would very much like not to see Sarah Palin in the news. In fact, I really don't want to see Sarah Palin at all. Not only does she offend my sensibilities, but she has to be the most inarticulate person I have ever listened to. She drones on like a cuckoo clock with a pitch two octaves too high.
How can the mainstream media even bother covering her? Surely the Republicans have someone better to carry their flag. There has got to be someone else in that party who takes a conservative position and makes it, well, palatable. I know this isn't the best that that party has to offer. Sarah Palin symbolizes everything that is wrong with conservative politics. She is the icon for mediocrity in the worst sense. Her actions, thought processes and speech send a message to all Americans that is ok to be solidly below average. Sarah Palin is a ringing endorsement to Americans that they don't need to read the paper, dissect the issues or exercise independent thought when taking a side on the pertinent issues that may affect this country.
Sarah Palin in all her splendor is regaling the crowd with coined slogans and senseless conservative rhetoric. She is telling the anybody who will listen how the Democrats are spending too much money and how government does not need to interfere in people's lives. Her senseless blather is typical of someone who fails to fully understand the substantive scope of most policies and laws. Why you ask, because she doesn't read. The Sarah Palin's of this world are fond of talking points given to them in forty second sound bites. Unfortunately, this doesn't surprise most Americans. The problem is that Sarah Palin starts doing things like drawing cross hairs on areas where Democratic representatives live. It makes you wonder whether certain militia groups that camp out in the woods and hate "big government" agree with Sara Palin. More troubling than that, it makes you wonder whether Sarah Palin agrees with them. Make no mistake about it. Some of those scary factions that live in the woods, fondle automatic weapons are a part of the Tea Party Movement. Is this the new Republican Party? Can we afford to let these groups proliferate as people become more disenchanted with the government during hard times. I hope not.
Sarah Palin's America, no thank you. I will pass.

I just have to laugh at such obvious partisan depictions. Sarah Palin is “shrieking” and “droning”, but this protester/heckler was merely “voicing his dissenting opinion”. Hmm… those assessments couldn’t at all be driven by ideology, could they? Let’s see… Palin, an invited guest to speak at this event, was “shrieking”… and the man who infiltrated the event just to heckle her is a completely rational and reasonable individual who was merely there to “voice his dissenting opinion”. An opinion, mind you, that no one at this event asked for or wanted to hear. What a flagrant misrepresentation of these circumstances, based purely on ideological preferences.
The intellectual dishonesty doesn’t stop there either. This writer then goes on to declare that Palin is "inarticulate" and "unpalatable". Really? Inarticulate? Seems fairly articulate to me. Hmm...
Palin, according to this writer, is also mediocre and below average. How does she draw such large crowds of supporters wherever she goes then? Interesting. She is apparently ignorant and uninformed, and incapable of an independent thought. Oh, like the 90% of black voters who voted for Obama just because he is black? I see... (Oh come on, you know it is totally true)
He goes on to use simply unfounded characterizations like “senseless”, “doesn’t read” (where have I heard this before), and makes implications such as Palin is trying to stir up “militia groups” to take violent action against her political opponents. Seriously? Now Palin is guilty of inciting violence? Come on...
The most ridiculous part about this is that this writer attempts to pass himself off as intellectually superior to Palin and conservatives in general (I guess simply because he is liberal), and takes the opportunity to attempt to talk down to us. Really? So, if you are truly our intellectual superior, then why is it that NOTHING you wrote seems to come anywhere near even attempting to dispute the substance of what Palin is saying? Because… you aren't capable of this. All you can do is try to use ad hominem attacks, personal attacks, and childish (not to mention irritatingly unsubstantiated) accusations and implications about Palin to try convince us all of how stupid, boring, irritating, obnoxious, dishonest, angry, ignorant, illiterate, lazy, and “below average” Palin is. Well, it simply isn’t working (because she isn’t any of those things), and your attempts to persuade us just make you look foolish.
Palin’s message is not “offensive” in any way. You may disagree with her on everything she says, but that doesn't automatically make her words offen. Not in the least. People who actually find ideas that they don’t agree with to be “offensive” are just far too easily offended. Perhaps you are a bit overly sensitive about your “sensibilities”?
I find it fairly ironic that the Left hails themselves as the party who stands up for the average American… but when one runs for Vice President, all bets are off. All the sudden this average and completely relatable American is just too dumb, ill-informed, inarticulate, average, below average and senseless to be President (if you read between the lines… this is really a strong indication that she scares the crap out of them).
Clearly the Left thinks that you have to be a classic Washington insider elitist to be President of the United States. Palin appeals to so many Americans because… she is one of us. We can relate to her. She is a Mom, a wife, takes her kids to hockey… and a lot of Americans actually find that refreshing. We are tired of our elected officials presuming that they are far more intelligent than we are and should be making these kinds of decisions for us because we aren’t smart enough to make decisions for ourselves. Know what I mean California? Prop 8? You Californians were just too dumb to decide about gay marriage, you homophobes! Good thing that judge took over and straightened everything out just in time for you dummies, right?
The writer says the Right is guilty of mindless forty second sound bites… Really? I say marriage is between a man and a woman and always has been… and we should not change the definition of the word or the tradition of “marriage” for MANY reasons. The Left responds with “You are just an ignorant bigot homophobe”. Wow, well put. I say we should close our border and force EVERYONE to enter our country legally for security and economic reasons. The left responds with “Wow… what a racist”. Very articulate response. I say we cannot afford another HUGE tax funded program like “Obama Care”… and the Left responds with “Why do you hate poor people so much?“ Great point. What kind of constructive dialogue can I actually have with such people?
The LEFT is where the shrieking comes from. It’s where the hate and violence come from. It is where the mediocrity comes from. It is where ignorance comes from. It is from the Left that very little independent thinking actually comes from, contrary to popular belief. I can give examples of each of these, if I must! The Left tends to be all about emotion and very little substance.
Palin is right… the government IS spending too much money. The government is inserting themselves into our lives more and more every day. Now, you are of course welcome to disagree with Palin and articulate why you do so, but to simply attempt to counter Palin’s message with personal attacks and irresponsible implications is intellectually lazy, reckless, and irresponsible. It makes YOU look like the unintelligent one.
Stick to the substance of the issues. Just accusing Palin of employing senseless rhetoric and sound bites does not make it the truth. It isn't the truth. She actually is able to articulate on issues… you just don’t like what she says because you disagree with her ideologically.
I could easily use your same tactics and turn this on the Democratic party with Obama’s clear ties to Marxist revolutionaries and progressives who believe in socialism and huge government… but I would rather not. You (like most liberals) need to start being more fair to Palin. Disagree with her ideas, but there is no need to attack her personally… especially for things that simply aren’t true. Knock it off, will you? It would be absolutely "senseless" of you to keep doing this.
